5 Minutes with Designer Nicole Miller

For the fourth year in a row, Fashion Houston kicked off it’s fashion week with emerging designers like Viet Nguygen, Jo’se Reyes, Amir Taghi and Talbot Runhof.  Well known designers like Rebecca Taylor, Marios Schwab, Houston’s own Chloe Dao and Nicole Miller also brought their structured skirts, embellished jackets and flower print maxi dresses to the runway.

Designers were being left and right for fan pictures, interview after interview and schedule rundowns with their assistants, however, I caught up with American designer Nicole Miller, to play a game of fill in the blanks, she answered a couple of the questions rather quickly and others her PR rep (who knew her so well) helped her out a bit.  Check out the Texas native’s candid interview below.

Andy: What was the inspiration behind your Spring 2014 collection?

Nicole Miller: I came across a photo exhibit in NYC, where the photos expressed the battle at Versailles.  I was intrigued by the powerful women who stormed the castle.  They were both sweet and tough.  My collection reflects the sweetness and toughness of a woman.
