NBA Post-Season Key Fashion Players
The countdown to the NBA National Championship is underway; however, these 10 hoopsters are doing more than ballin’ on the court. They are shooting up the fashion trend lists and scoring major points with fashion editors. Take a peek at which ballers made our haute list.
You can bet that over a year ago Miami Heat’s triple threat Dwyane Wade, Lebron James and Chris Bosh were not thinking about their Miami Vice adopted wardrobes for their next home or away game appearance. Thanks to the strict 2005 NBA dress code, the so last year baggy jeans are finally played out, the shiny ice around their necks are now dull and the rugged fitted caps and do-rags have become extinct. The dress code brought out a sense of confidence and elegance to the players on and off the court. Something that we only saw when the players suited up for occasional award shows or for a magazine shoot. These athletes bring more than their A games to the arenas. They bring Louis Vuitton backpacks, sport nerdy glasses, and rock custom made suits. The tunnel is no longer just an entrance to and from the game, but it is now their runway. Which one of these post-season fashion players makes your best-dressed list?
Black is beautiful. Black is effortless. Black is cool. Los Angeles Clippers point guard Chris Paul does not only demand attention on the court, but he is dominating the fashion world with his designer labels and love for accessories, like watches and sunglasses.
We cannot talk about cool and not add Los Angeles Lakers star player Kobe Bryant in the same sentence. Bryant does not need any styling tips when it comes to his wardrobe. Since Bryant melted our hearts at 18, we could not keep our eyes off of him. Mr. Fashion-Forward looks polished in any get up he manages to pull together.
Miami Heat’s starting power forward Chris Bosh may have been injured this post-season, but his wardrobe did not suffer any malfunctions. Bosh likes to keep his style vibrant and classic.
Not only did this 7’1” New York Knicks center win his first NBA National Championship last year with the Dallas Mavericks, but also he attended his first Met Ball this year. Tyson Chandler’s appearance at the ball officiated his welcome into the most stylish NBA players club.
The paparazzi should never catch New York Knicks small forward Carmelo Anthony in the midst of a fashion crisis. His fashionable wife Lala Anthony is always by his side to help piece together a sporty but debonair look. His wardrobe may consist of a variety of dark hues, but he is no gothic when it comes to fashion. Anthony’s love for cardigans and three-piece suits brings out his warm and bold personality.
Like his teammate Russell Westbrook, Kevin Durant’s threads are here to stay. Durant understands the basics of fashion. Extravagent handkerchiefs, various sized lapels, bright hues, and nerdy eyeglasses are a must for this Oklahoma City Thunder forward. When Durant and Westbrook step foot inside the post game press conference it is definitely a battle for the king of the fashion court.
Miami Heat small forward Lebron James’ style has transformed from sporty to chic. A bit of that Miami sun has brightend up his wardrobe. James can be seen rocking pastel colored blazers and trousers complete with a touch of his own flavor, tennis shoes. James’ style is impecable.
look these days. This Oklahoma City Thunder guard’s fashion is evolving. You may not think he is setting trends by some of his colorful numbers, but he is definitely a contender in one of the key players of the fashion court.
Dwyane Wade’s style exudes class, boldness and the wow factor. Not only is this Miami Heat guard’s fashion game bringing heat to South Beach, but Wade is also bringing the fire to fashion spreads in almost every major magazine. Wade is definitely burning up the fashion charts.
