New York Fashion Week – New Location, New Face, New Fashions
Summer is almost over and that can only mean one thing to fashionista’s…..New York Fashion Week is approaching. The wait is over! The venues may be different from last season, but the anticipation is still the same. This year, say bye to the white arcs at the Lincoln Center and the luxe sponsorship with Mercedes-Benz, and say hello to Manhattan’s Skylight at Moynihan Station and Skylight Clarkson Square. This season is all about change, expect that and more from New York Fashion Week. More shows, more designers and more fashion!
French fashion designer Riccardo Tisci with Givenchy shows his collection stateside this year with the hopes of celebrities gracing the runway. The fashion house also plans to open a New York flagship store just in time for its’ Spring 2016 collection.
You might want to check out new comers like Dao-Yi Chow and Maxwell Osborne of Public School, as they premiere their own collection this season and present their new collection for DKNY as the lines newest Creative Directors since Donna Karen stepped down earlier this year.
The oh-so fun designer, Jeremy Scott, will showcase his Spring 2016 collection this year. I’m sure it will be an overwhelming consumption of colors and patterns intertwined in jogging suits and skater dresses. We have seen Scott’s most recent looks on the MTV Video Music Awards with Miley Cyrus as his poster model and the revamped colorful carpet for the pre-show, so if that is a taste of his collection then be prepared to either be disgusted or inspired to bring out your inner naughty girl. No matter the looks his show will be one to watch.
The collections to watch list can go on forever, so how about you just take a glance at all of them. For those of you who won’t be able to catch any of the shows, then you are in luck, visit NYFW for live footage.
Happy Fashion Week!
