Oscar de la Renta’s Most Glamorous Red Carpet Gowns

“I design clothes for women to wear. I am not interested in shock tactics. I just want to make beautiful clothes.” — Oscar de la Renta

One of the world’s most breathtaking fashion couturiers was more than a designer.  He was a visionary of romanticized beauty in every form.  From desirable fragrances to enchanting red carpet and wedding gowns, de la Renta obviously knew that chivalry will never die, as long as he kept women smelling like angels and looking impeccable in his threads .  Not only did he make a woman feel as if she had three men were walking behind her, as he would say, but his divine looks were tantalizing.  His designs didn’t leave any sense unused.

Women were subdued by his earlier collections, but his latest Spring 2015 Ready-To-Wear looks brought the reserved woman to life with black gingham printed midrifts along with matching aline skirts fit with a black square-buckle waist belt.  The various colors of gingham prints put you in the mood for a lady-like picnic.  Not the type of picnic you’re used to like the basket with food to nibble on, but more so a photography shoot picnic.  Those prints aren’t made for sitting down, they are made to walk and make fashion points in every place you waltz into.

Of course de la Renta never misses the mark when it comes to creating ultra feminine and poised Ready-To-Wear looks season after season.  In this year’s collection there were a number of off-white and black lace tops and skirts along with a number of black and white ankle-length gowns with detailed broderie anglaise to add the wow factor.  His floral designs accompanied the high low Cinderella gowns in hues of pastel pink and lime green to give a memorizing field of beauty look to his collection.

I have pulled the most romantic and jaw-dropping gowns de la Renta has created throughout his career for celebrities such as Oprah Winfrey, Sarah Jessica Parker and Beyonce.  Check out the looks below and tell me which is your favorite look.
