Remembering Selena’s Fashion and Style, 20 Years Later

It’s rare that you find an artist with the overall package- raw talent, uncanny stage presence and timeless fashion sense.

Tejano singer, Selena Quintanilla, was more than a triple threat.  Not only was her music adorned, but her iconic fashion sense was appreciated by the masses.  And with a body like Selena’s I am sure it graciously thanked her each time she hit the stage in something tantalizing and dreamy.

Within her short 23 years of life, Selena made a name for herself not only as the Queen of Tejano Music but as one of the most fashionable artist of all time.  Her body hugging pantsuits, bling encrusted bustiers and sheer tops took her artistry to another level.  Selena had turned her dance floor into a runway as well.  Her outfits of choice may not have been accepted in some households, however, her look was poetic.  It gave her a dose of pride and a sense of feminine power.  It became her glory.

In 1993, Selena opened two boutiques one in Corpus Christi and another in San Antonio.  At the boutique, Selena Etc., one could pick up hand designed looks from Selena and her co-designer.  Also, it was equipped with a full-service hair salon and an area to view memorabilia, however, neither boutique are still in operation.

Selena’s fashion influence on stage will never be erased.  Check out 20 of her sexiest stage looks below.
