Fur, Leather, Fringe and Bling – Four Major Staples of Houston Rodeo Fashion
If you happened to visit Houston anywhere between the end of February and the third weekend in March, then you are in for a special fashion treat. Yes, we wear cowboy hats and boots here year long, but don’t get me wrong it’s always with style.
It’s rodeo season here in Houston and the style gets more eclectic every year. One can expect to see anything from the faux/real fur coats to bedazzled cowboy hats and boots. The typical stone washed Wrangler jean set and a pair of mud bustin’ brown cowboy boots may have been the premier way to dress 10 years ago, but not in today’s world of rodeo fashion. Every event you attend during the rodeo is not just about the animals, it’s also about the style.
The number one common thread was the cowboy boots accompanied by an exquisite fur coat/vest. Plaids are still nice to wear on the home front, however, finding the right jewels to piece your look together may come to be one of the hardest decisions. Do you add bling to an already fashion forward rodeo look? Or do you add a dash of turquoise to punctuate the outfit? Whatever the decision, make sure it is the right one. You do not want to be caught out during rodeo season without one of the major rodeo staples – fur, fringe, leather or bling.
These four looks were flaunted in the NRG Center as local models bopped down the Rocking the Rodeo Runway Thursday evening at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. Models rocked clothing and jewelry from boutiques like Old Frontier Clothing, The Crystal Ranch, Romancing The Range, Rhinestone Cowgirl and Cinch Jeans.
With cowboy boots that were hand designed and plush exotic fur coats, you most definitely had an idea of what to wear to your next rodeo event.
Check out the fashions below of the show and some of the Houston Rodeo’s most fashionable cowboy boots.
