Houston Fashion Week 2012
New York had it, then Paris and Milan and Africa’s runways all lit up with models and lights for their own Spring 2013 Collection. Now it’s Houston’s turn to display four days of delectable fashion pieces beginning Monday, November 12, 2012, at the Wortham Theater Center. Doors open at 7:30p.m. and showtime is at 8:00 p.m.
This year Fashion Houston has pulled out all the stops, of course we have Houston’s own and Project Runway’s Chloe Dao showcasing her line DAO by Chloe Dao, but we have also enlisted well-known designers Zac Posen and Max Azria of BCBGMAXAZRIA to give us a taste of what it’s like to witness a top designers’ fashion show. Both Posen and Azria are New York Fashion Week favorites, will their collections shown at this years Houston Fashion Week live up to the hype?
The lineup this year is heavy, Georges Chakra will kick things off this year and showcase his Spring 2013 Collection to a crowd full of fashionistas and fashion lords from all over. Chakra has designed dresses for celebrities like Jennifer Lopez, Tyra Banks, Katy Perry, and many others. Washington native Laurel Berman, who is known for her “Jackie O” style dresses, will bring the runway to life with her symmetrically designed collection that’s made to fit the body and hug curves flawlessly. Texas designer Jerri Moore, who began her career in acting and film production, will showcase her sophisticated hip hugging evening wear Thursday night. The grand finale belongs to Fashion Institute for Design and Merchandising alum, Monique Lhuillier, a woman who has shown and proved ever since her first bridal collection debuted in 1996 that her niche in fashion is bridal wear. She is known for turning dream bridal gowns into a reality, which can be seen throughout every collection. Lhuillier’s gowns are here to stay.
Ready or not, the Spring 2013 Collection is here, so slip on your sexiest dress and pull out her show stopping pumps and walk right in to the Wortham Theater Center to witness fashion at its finest.
