2014 ESPY Awards Ceremony: Best Dressed
Most of their day is spent practicing on the court or field, but when it’s time to clean up athletes dial up their stylist and clean up well without a problem. The 2014 ESPY Award ceremony in Los Angeles, California, was no different for sportsmen/women than any other previous red carpet. The more recognizable the athlete the dapper he/she portrayed themselves. Women athletes, usually don’t have a problem dressing the part, it’s the men we sometimes worry about. Whether the suit will fit, or if he will wear too much jewelry, which will take away from the look. But, lately, it seems as if men are toning down their accessories and sprucing up their appearance with bold colored tailored suits and custom fitting bottoms, whether jeans or pants.
Award shows have turned into fashion shows for most men athletes and artists. The question “who are you wearing” is no longer reserved for the women on the red carpet, men can partake in answering that question as well. And don’t be surprised when you hear the likes of Saint Laurent or Ferragamo confidently rolling of their tongues.
By the looks of things this evening, the term worst dressed was not an option. All of the athletes stepped out in their most daring looks, which gave their personality an extra boost of confidence. The more trendy athletes like Los Angeles Lakers shooting guard, Nick Young, kept it fun as usual with a black tuxedo accompanied with a black and white printed Saint Laurent silk shirt and glittery shoes and the more risky sportsman, Oklahoma City Thunder point guard, Russell Westbrook, showed up in a light blue and white shirt with paisley printed sleeves along with grey slacks accompanied with a black Hermes belt. Quite a look.
